OpenDocument: The Document Format for Open Information Access

Userful introduces a new, easier to use Timer applet in DiscoverStation 4.2. The new dialog puts all the inactivity timeouts in a drop down list including disabling the feature.

The new dialog has improved usability through simplified wording and a more consistent way of changing session options.

Unauthorized Computer Use: Don't Let it Happen at Your Library

The Arizona Daily Star reported earlier this month in a story headlined "Porn suspect arrested at library" : "A Tucson man was arrested Wednesday after an employee told police that he was looking at child pornography on a computer at a University of Arizona library."

Although not all unauthorized users are out to violate your acceptable use policy, many threats to public computers and public computer users often come from within the library itself. Spyware and viruses can be installed maliciously or inadvertently on Windows PCs, trojans can be installed to phish for user information, and users can use public computers to illicitly access information without leaving a trace. DiscoverStation's patron authentication features prevent unauthorized use and deters malicious use, while DiscoverStation's virus-proof desktop protects your library and patrons by ensuring that computer viruses and other malware cannot run.

Contact your Userful representative today to find out how to protect your library with DiscoverStation.
