Tired Keyboards?

Now that school's in full swing you've likely seen an increase in library activity. If your keyboards are feeling worn out, you might want to upgrade to some new multimedia ones. DiscoverStation 5 Rolling Your Way

DiscoverStation 5, launched this summer at ALA, has been rolling out to libraries around the world over the summer with much acclaim. It has a host of new features: more applications, new languages, new remote management tools and new plugins (including beta support for installing Microsoft Office 2003). DiscoverStation "Show and Tell"

The easiest way to learn more about DiscoverStation is in a half hour "Show and Tell." We work with you one on one, walk you through the patron experience, show some of the tools DiscoverStation offers to make your staff's lives easier, and answer all your questions. We'll schedule the time at your convenience and you can invite as many staff members as you wish. It's a wonderful introduction to better public computing in just 30 minutes. Getting Hooked on Reading

A number of authors and celebrities are participating in ?What Book Got You Hooked??? a national awareness campaign from FirstBook.org, the children?s literacy organization that provides new books to children from disadvantaged families. The 15-year-old organization has just given its 50 millionth book to children in need.

The top five titles that created readers were:
(1) ''Nancy Drew'' by Carolyn Keene
(2) ''Green Eggs and Ham'' by Dr. Seuss
(3) ''Little House on the Prairie'' by Laura Ingalls Wilder
(4) ''Little Women'' by Louisa May Alcott
(5) The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss
