What’s the best thing about Userful Desktop?

Posted by 0 in Untagged

There are actually a lot of things for me personally since I can’t think about just one great thing. For me, I think one of the best features is the multi-user workstation ability powered off just one PC. You talk about energy savings as well as keeping money in your wallet from buying additional systems; nothing else compares to what Userful can do in those areas.

And of course once you get into Userful Desktop™ itself, I love the availability of programs that are available to you. And the best part is that all of these programs come with Userful Desktop and you don’t have to pay extra for them.

Something that really thrills me as well is how fast everything loads. A sheer quality of linux-based systems: hardly any lag whatsoever. I remember trying to load up YouTube on my other non-Userful Desktop system and almost had to wait a full minute before able to access it. The first time I used Userful Desktop, YouTube was the first site I went to and it was available to me in less than a couple of seconds. Not only is Internet surfing fantastic, but also how quickly any application pulls up as soon as you double click its icon.

I could honestly go on and on about Userful Desktop. I could also get carried away on how incredible Userful Manager is to configure and maintain your network. But what I’d like to know is what you think of Userful Desktop. Send me an email and tell me what you love about Userful Desktop. I know there have got to be many things, but if you can’t think of one, maybe make a top 5 or a top 10 ;-). Feel free to drop me an email at bjohnson@userful.com as I would love to hear from the customers themselves and their feedback on Userful Desktop. Until next time…

What is Windows XP's sleep mode costing you?

Posted by 0 in Userfultechnologygreen computing

Did you know that every PC that runs Windows XP's sleep mode can escalate up to 5 billion dollars per year in energy costs? Did you also know that there also 20 million personal computers in the United States alone that end up obsolete and become hazardous environmental waste? And sadly, only a very small percentage consisting of 3.3 million are recycled or donated.

Due to the fact that technology is constantly growing by leaps and bounds on a frequent basis and replacing outdated systems in the process, is there anything that can be done with an obsolete computer rather than disposing of it? How will we ever work to achieve a cleaner planet if everyone continues to take energy consumption and electronics disposal for granted?

Fortunately, there is a green computing solution to this issue. Userful has created a dream green machine that gives anyone the ability to turn a standard PC system into a multi-computer platform. In other words, you can transform one PC into ten.

How is this done? Userful constructs its systems with multiple video card slots that allow you to add up to 10 monitors, and multiple USB ports for keyboard and mouse functionality. Powered by Userful Desktop™, you have the ability to use multiple computers on an easy to use, tightly secured network. It's ideal for a variety of public computing avenues such as libraries, Internet cafes, airports, schools and hotels.

Userful's mission is to achieve the three R's for its consumers: reduce environmental impact of computing, reusability of existing computers, even ones that are considered to be obsolete, and return on investment, which allows the consumers to make money off their Userful Desktop.

Userful Corporation is quickly becoming the worldwide leader in green computing.
