Daniel, Yani and Ken from the Userful team were recently at the ALA Conference in Chicago and loved meeting so many of our customers face to face and of course also had a great time talking to all the other libraries planning to get started with Userful Desktop. Their information packs on the BTOP grants program were the hit of the tradeshow!

A trend we found that seemed to resonate amongst many US libraries, was the need for more public computers to handle the influx of job searchers and those trying to access government resources. We learned that in the US, most government services such as filing for unemployment must be done online. Many people are now going to the libraries to use the computers there, so it is making it even more imperative to maximize public computing resources while still meeting pre-set budgets. This is something we can really help with, so we'll be writing more about this topic in the near future!

In between working hard each day at the conference, the team also got to explore a bit of Chicago and enjoyed some original deep dish pizza (yum!), went to Millennium Park and listened to an outdoor symphony concert, enjoyed the music at an authentic Chicago Blues club, and watched the magnificent Chicago skyline from the 95th floor of the John Hancock Center.
