Userful's management team

Timothy Griffin
Founder, President and CEO

The founder and President of Userful Corporation, Tim holds a Masters Degree in Industrial Design from the University of Calgary. He is a serial entrepreneur, having led various consulting, research, and design companies.

In his years before founding Userful, Tim conducted pioneering research into laptop and input device design. He also performed and taught as a professional cellist and co-authored a book on the subject.

Alan McNaughton
VP and General Manager

Alan joined Userful as VP Operations in January 2009. He has over 25 years of experience in product development, management and business development including work with Aksys Networks (VoIP phones), Rydex Industries (communications software), INETCO Systems (protocol and transaction software) and Global Thermoelectric (thermoelectric generators and fuel fired heaters). Over the last 10 years Alan has been involved in the senior management of early stage companies including with AutoBranch Technologies Inc (ATM business) which he co-founded in 1999 and most recently as Chief Operating Officer of Aksys Networks.

Daniel Griffin
VP Multiplied Computing

In addition to Daniel's role as VP of Multiplied Computing, he is also a member of Userful's Sales team. Along with his years of sales and customer service experience, Daniel brings years of systems re-engineering, change management and team leadership experience. From 2000-2003, prior to joining Userful, he led the project to integrate LexisNexis' print and electronic delivery departments and systems. The successful project retrained 110 FTEs and integrated three product delivery systems. Also while at LexisNexis, Daniel managed a team of 11 FTEs responsible for delivery of $3 million in products and a budget of $750,000.

Karl Meema
VP Sales

Karl has spent over 25 years selling, marketing and developing technology. In his early career he worked at Hewlett Packard, IBM, Lotus Development and Microsoft where he ran the Western Canadian Region. Over the past 10 years, Karl has both owned and been involved at startup companies including President and CEO of Pathfinder GeoServices, and President of illimiCell (now Poynt Corp.). Karl holds an MBA Degree from York University, and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Queen’s University.

Jamey Miles
VP Business Development

Jamey joined Userful as VP Business Development in October 2010 and is responsible for managing Userful's key strategic partners. Jamey has 15 years of Business Development, Sales and Sales Management experience mainly with high tech start-up companies. Prior to joining Userful Jamey held progressively responsible positions with Acceleware, Hitachi-ID (formerly M-Tech), CP Rail and Accenture.

Lin (Roger) Zhang
Director of Product Management

Since September 2009 Roger has been responsible for product planning, and execution throughout the product life-cycles of Userful's family of software products. Roger has more than 12 years experience in product management positions at international companies in the telecommunications industry including Zi Corporation, and Shanghai Ricoh, where he successfully managed several product lines for China and the global market. Roger holds an MBA Degree from The University of Calgary, and a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Design and Manufacturing from Shanghai University of Technology.
